African Safari Series II

Have a look at some snaps taken at masaimara ... the light conditions being not too good, exposure is not proper in most snaps .. some of them are grainy too .... but they have been composed they best way i could ..taking the limitations of the camera and lack of experience of the photographer into consideration .... enjoy them

Navarasas

Navarasas, are the nine basic expessions form the basis of abhinaya in Indian Classical dance and theatre. I have often wondered as to how the same emotion when performed by different artistes can have varying influences on the viewer.

Children, by virtue of their innate innocence can serve as ideal tutors for the dancers and artistes because of the unadultrated nature of their minds. What is there in the mind is instantly refleted on the face. Have a look at how my nephew Sheedhar demonstrates this to support my arguement ...........

KARUNA .............COMPASSION

SHRINGARA ........ LOVE

HASYA ....... LAUGHTER

KRODHA ......... ANGER

VEERA ....... COURAGE

BHEEBALSA ........... REVULSION/DISGUST

BHAYANAKA ........ FEAR

ADBHUTA ...... SURPRISE

SHANTA ....... PEACE

Whims of Aditya ......... different shades of dusk in the mountains ....

During the brief tenure that I had in a remote hill station in the shiwaliks, one of the most amazing aspects I observed were the myriad moods created at dusk ......... after a days work, one just had to watch the sun god taking his routine dip in the stream beyond the mountain ranges to forget the days problems and marvel at the miracles of creation .... take a peek ......

Melting red horizon...intense & passionate .....

Soothing orange .....dissolving into infinity ....is it ?

Serene sunset .... subtle grey .... oddly powerless?

Is it the big bang happenning again ? ......
